Established in 2016, the Nebraska Country School Association was created to bring together a collective of people that are actively involved or interested in the structural and historical preservation of country schools in Nebraska and the Midwest.
Our Mission
To work with and provide information for individuals and organizations who are actively involved in or related to the ongoing preservation of country schools and their histories in the State of Nebraska.
We want to honor and preserve the legacy of the One Room School in Nebraska where scores of children were taught the "3 R's", reading, writing and arithmetic, and given the opportunity to learn and create a better way of life.
What We've Achieved
The Nebraska Country School Association is just getting started! We had our first conference last year at Peru State College under the wing of the Otoe County Genealogical Society and we are preparing for our second conference July of 2017 at UN Kearney. Check out our speaker lists for both conferences, and we hope to see you in Kearney July 14th and 15th!
Registration is now open!! July 19th and 20th, 2019 is our conference at Lied Conference Center in Nebraska City. We have an exciting day planned, come join us.
